Jacob Edgar is an Ethnomusicologist, music producer, and global explorer with an insatiable curiosity for the diverse ways in which people express themselves through music.

Edgar is the principle music researcher for the acclaimed record label Putumayo World Music, contributing songs and liner notes to over 200 Putumayo collections. In 2006, Edgar founded the record label and concert booking agency Cumbancha, which promotes some of the top names in international music.

Since 2009, Edgar has been the host and writer of Music Voyager, a music and travel television series produced for American Public Television & PBS. A regular guest lecturer and cultural specialist on National Geographic/Lindblad Expeditions cruises to West Africa, South America, the British Isles, Cape Verde, Iceland and many other destinations, Edgar curates musical experiences and concerts with world-renowned artists in intimate settings that provide a unique gateway into the culture, history, language, indeed the very soul of a community.

Edgar’s journeys in search of new talent has brought him to remote Caribbean villages, trendy Parisian nightclubs, sultry Brazilian samba schools, rocking Indian jam sessions, the recording studios of Havana and beyond, providing him a backstage pass to the world’s music.

Jiggs Thorne, performance poet, artist and visionary art director is the creator of House on Fire, instigator and director of The Bushfire International Festival of the Arts and founding member of IGODA, a Southern African Music Festival Circuit.

House on Fire, a truly unique performance arena in the Kingdom of Swaziland, has been lauded as “one of the most eclectic venues in the world”. Hosting an array of performances and artistic development workshops throughout the year, the annual Bushfire Festival, is the pinnacle of House on Fire’s performance programme.

Seeking to utilise the arts as a platform to encourage cultural and intellectual exchange, the Bushfire Festival, (recognized by the BBC as “Africa’s Top Festival”) is now in its second decade and attracts an audience of over 25,000 visitors. Featuring three days of leading international and regional artists in theatre, music and interactive performance, the Festival has inspired the creation of the Southern African Music Festival Circuit.

In 2014 Rashid received the Presidential Order of Ikhamanga, a South African honour granted by the President of the Republic of South Africa for achievements in Arts, Culture, Literature, Music, Journalism, and Sports. Rashid is now solely focussed on growing his newly established company Rashid Lombard Inc (Pty) Ltd and to share his knowledge and skills in the Creative Industries.

Piotr Pucyłois an international music industry professional with over 20 years experience working as a producer, booker, project coordinator, promoter, journalist and is the co-founder and longtime artistic director of legendary Polish world music label – Orange World. In 2005, he co-founded GLOBALTICA World Cultures Festival – now one of the biggest and best world music festivals in Poland – he is programming and artistic director of this exceptional event. Regularly invited as a jury member, mentor or panelist during important festivals, competitions or other events – eg. IOMMA (Reunion), Atlantic Music Expo (Cap Vert), PAMS, Journey to Korean Music, ApaMM (South Korea), Mundial Montreal (Canada), International Music Showcase Festival (Israel), Segou’Art (Mali), Sharq Taronalari (Uzbekistan), International Mugham Festival (Azerbaijan), Russian World Music Awards (Russia), Taoxichuan Festival (China). Frank was Born in 1965 in the village Didam, in the east of The Netherlands.
Married and father of a daughter and a son.
Currently living in Rotterdam, with wife, kids and dog.
Played drums in many different bands since the age of 12.
And always did booking/bookkeeping of the bands besides playing drums.
Frank graduated for Bachelor’s degree in arts management from HKU University of the Arts, Utrecht, The Netherlands.
He worked for 10 years as director of the Liberty Day Music Festival in Utrecht and worked for 5 years as agent, tour manager and musician at Crossroads Blues Agency.
Frank is the Co-founder of Black & Tan Records.
Frank Worked for 5 years as agent for Frank Bolder Music Management / Bolder Music Agency.
He is also worked as a production manager for the Slagwerk Festival (Drummer’s Festival).
Since 2006 Frank is the Program Manager for the North Sea Jazz Festival Rotterdam and the Program Manager for Lantaren Venster Rotterdam since 2009.

During the 1980s, whilst active with the Anti-Apartheid Movement, Yusuf Mahmoud was first inspired by the power of African music: to raise hope, awareness, and solidarity.

In 2003, he founded Busara Promotions; an NGO registered in Zanzibar to generate employment, professionalism and networking in the East African music industry.

Its flagship annual event is the Sauti za Busara festival, showcasing unique and diverse music from across the African Continent and diaspora. The 17th edition takes place in Stone Town, Zanzibar, 13 – 16 February 2020.

Faisal KIWEWA (1983) is the founder of Bayimba Cultural Foundation
and the Artistic Director of the annual Bayimba International Festival
of the Arts (12 editions) as well as DOADOA – East Africa Performing
Arts Market (7 editions). Curator of the Amakula International Film
Festival (12 editions) and the Co-Curator of the Kampala International
Theatre Festival (5 editions). As a founding Director, together with a
skillful team of he has worked hard to transform the arts scene in
Uganda from a rather static state to its current level of vibrancy.
During the past years, under his guidance, Bayimba has trained,
supported and created numerous platforms to celebrate the arts in
Uganda. As such, Bayimba has developed into a house hold name
among artists and professionals, not only within Uganda but also
within the East African region and other corners around the world.

Marta works as a programme curator for the Cross Culture Festival in Warsaw. Since
2015 she also manages an innovative and dynamic Gindungo Artst Development, a non
profit organisation based in Lisbon. Gidungo mission is to assure equal access to the
global media for contemporary musicians from all over the world and to bring their work
from peripheries to the centre stage.
In collaboration with Adam Mickiewicz Institute (institution promoting Polish culture around
the world) Marta has created „Sound like Poland”, program promoting Polish emerging
artists abroad. She cooperates with the Polish Radio. She managed the promotion of
‘Harmonia Mundi/World Village label for the Polish music market. Marta was a culture and
development expert for the Embassy of Poland in Angola and for the Central African
region. Currently she lives between Warsaw and Lisbon.

Paul Duhaney

Paul Duhaney is the Artistic Director for Africa Oyé in Liverpool. Now in his 20th year of working for the organisation, he is responsible for the development of their annual music festival, which attracts over 75,000 people each year. In addition to the festival, Africa Oyé programmes tours, educational projects and concerts across the UK. Paul is also a board member of the Mandela8 group,who are building a memorial in Princes Park, Liverpool to commemorate Nelson Mandela’s legacy.

Jason Mayall is director of the London office for Japanese concert promoter Smash Corporation. Established in 1984, Smash promotes two music festivals and scores of concert tours year-round in Japan.
Smash produce Fuji Rock Festival which is Asia’s largest outdoor festival, held annually in the mountains of Naeba, Niigata. The company’s UK office produce and co-ordinate the arts around the site and create the Palace of Wonder, an area that presents circus and mayhem until the early dawn.
The 12,000 capacity Asagiri Jam camping festival takes place on the slopes of iconic Mount Fuji in Autumn and presents an eclectic range of artists
Smash promote some of the biggest names in the contemporary music world but also aim to introduce a colourful mix of artists from around the globe to Japanese audiences.
Jason is also known as ‘The Cumbia Kid’, championing Colombian “Cumbia” and “Porro” DJing original vinyl records a selection of ska, reggae, blues, soul and funk.

Rob Lokin

Rob Lokin worked as a doctor in hospitals in Tanzania and Cameroon in the late 70s. It is there that his love for African music started. Back home he worked as general practitioner in the East of the Netherlands. During holidays he travelled extensively through the African continent, always with musical destinations. Since 1991 he has been programming the Afrika Festival in the beautiful open-air theatre of the village of Hertme. The festival is run 100% by volunteers and has never received any subsidies. It is famous for the carefully chosen music from the African continent and its diaspora. The 32nd edition will take place in the weekend of 4 and 5 July 2020.

Paula Henderson began her music career in 1989 at WOMAD. Since ’89 she has held a variety of positions, finally finding her niche working on the programming and artist administration side.

Ben Mandelson (UK) is an independent world music record producer and active musician. He was part of the key group of UK music professionals who, collectively, created the World Music campaign of 1987. He is Founding Director of WOMEX [http://www.womex.com], and Supervisory Board member for the parent company Piranha Arts, which is based in Berlin, Germany. WOMEX is the world’s biggest professional music conference, tradefair and showcase event for World, Roots, Folk and Traditional music – held annually within Europe at the end of each October.
We have just celebrated our 25th anniversary; the 26th edition will take place in Budapest, Hungary in October 2020.

Dutch trumpeter Maite Hontelé used to tour the world with her salsa-band, but recently decided to change her live-path. Now she works as a programmer for the International Music Meeting Festival in Nijmegen, Holland.
Hontelé lived in Medellín, Colombia for almost 10 years, where she recorded 4 albums as a band-leader. She was nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2014 and was named ‘Artist of the Year’ by the Colombian national public radio. She toured and recorded with Latin music legends such as Ruben Blades, Oscar D’León, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Orquesta Aragón, and many more.
In 2018 Hontelé returned to her homeland, where she now works as a programmer for the International Music Meeting Festival together with Wim Westerveld and Kay Krijnen.

Monica Cosas

Monica Cosas is a Cultural Producer, with vast experience in festival organization, curatorship, booking and the organization of cultural projects. Cosas produces the Conexão Festival since 2007, promoting Brazilian and Latin American music all over the world. The festival has had nine editions in Brazil, and four in Latin America, including Uruguai, Argentina, Colombia and Cuba. Cosas actively promotes the connection between the Brazilian, Latin America and international musical scenes booking Brazilian artists in Latin America and Europe, and international artists in Brazil. Monica Cosas also takes part in the curatorial teams of many international and national festivals and music conferences.

Director, musician, organizer and author. In 1995 he planned the Ethnos Festival and in 2004 the. He is an innovative author of many artistic projects with young people too. Gigi Di Luca has been working in Italy and particularly in Naples using historical vesuvian location. In 1991 he set up a teathre and Arts school. As director and author he has been working for famous italian and foreign stages.
The Ethnos Festival has reached its XXIV edition. It is an international event that integrates the enhancement of the vesuvian territory with the discovery of new cultures. It hosts artists from different countries and able to fascinate the public through music, dance, theater, for a multidisciplinary festival.
The Divino Jazz Festival has reached its XIII edition. It is a Festival that combines live jazz music with wine in the Vesuvian territories where Lacrima Christi is produced. It takes place in places of historical and cultural value creating a perfect symbiosis between music, wine, nature and local food, where each event is a unique experience in its style.
Furthermore he has been the theatre director of “Viva La Vida”, “Memorie di una schiava”, “Nata sotto una pianta di datteri”, “La Nuotatrice” and “La Casa Di Bernarda Alba”in collaboration with “Il Teatro Stabile di Napoli”, “Il Piccolo Teatro di Milano” and other important theaters.
In 2008 he has been the organizer of Miriam Makeba concert in Castelvolturno to whom he dedicated other theatral projects and events in which he involved immigrants.

Nacido en Alcalá la Real, provincia de Jaén, lleva dedicado a la Gestión Cultural desde 1996. Gestor Cultural miembro de la Asociación de Gestores Culturales de Andalucía es fundador de Etnosur y director adjunto durante nueve años.
Fundador y director del festival Imagina Funk, festival más importante del género que se celebra en Europa, colaborador actulmente en el II Plan Estratégico de la Provincia de Jaén en la comisión Jaén Cultural y Educativa. Ha a participado en importantes ferias internacionales como Strictly Mundial, Womex, Tallin Music Week, Semana de la música de Israel, Feria de la Música de Abiyan, en Costa de Marfil, Mercat de Musica viva de Vic. Ha impartido conferencias y cursos en diferentes instituciones. Actuamente es uno de los participantes más antiguos del Programa Vis a Vis que organiza cada año Casa de África, visitando Senegal, Ethiopía, Tanzania, Sudafrica, Costa de Marfil, Angola, Guinea Ecuatorial y Cabo Verde.

Actualmente está involucrados en diferentes proyectos con el objetivo de promover la cultural urbana y compagina la actividad profesional con la de Dj de música negra y word music.

Em Julho de 2010 foi-lhe atribuída a Medalha de Mérito Cultural Municipal pela câmara de Vila Nova de Famalicão.
Pertenceu à Comissão de Apreciação dos Apoios Anuais 2011 e Bienais 2011-2012 da área de Teatro da DGArtes.
No âmbito de Guimarães – Capital Europeia da Cultura 2012 -, produziu com Fernando Alvim o projecto “Mi Casa es Tu Casa”, que se tornou notícia em todo o mundo pelo seu sucesso e características.
Atualmente, e desde de Dezembro de 2013, é pela segunda vez diretor artístico do Theatro Circo de Braga e consultor da Câmara Municipal de Braga para a área da Cultura.

Jérôme Galabert grew up in Reunion Island. A short stay in London in his early twenties allowed him to perfect his English while working. After this experience abroad, he returned to Reunion and became Head of Communication at the General Council of the island.
Over time, he gained experience within several Event Production structures, until he decided to create his own company – Galabert Production – and organise the first ever concert of James Brown on the island in 1993, gathering 17,000 people all together.
He then joined the Regional Council as a project manager, in charge of promoting Reunion music.
Between 97 and 99, he kept on working on cultural issues and created a public theatre called « Le Séchoir », he directed until 2004, when he created the Sakifo Festival.
Today, he manages Sakifo Production, a live performance company created in 2005, which produces in addition to Sakifo Musik Festival, « Les Francofolies de la Réunion » and other upcoming projects.
On top of these activities, he is eager to keep on promoting and developping emerging bands from Reunion or elsewhere, whether through the Sakifo label or through editions and booking so as to bring to light the music he loves.

Born in Maputo and bred in Swansea UK, it was only in South Africa
where Hugo got involved in the industry as a music artist from 2006,
later he was involved in Jax Panik, a multi-award winning Pop act from
Cape Town. He has toured with acts such as Die Antwoord, Locnville,
Goldfish and been the opening act for international acts such as Sean
Kingston, David Guetta and Akon’s respective tours in South Africa.
Together with Jax Panik they won a SAMA award (South African Music
Awards) for best Pop act in 2011.
Today, Hugo is a creative strategist and talent scout working with the
co-founders of Nando’s on various creative projects in the UK,
Mozambique and South Africa. The Nando’s Music Exchange is one of
those projects, it is a global programme which brings together
emerging and established musicians for mentoring, workshops,
collaborations and explosive events globally. Previous editions of the
Nando’s Music Exchange have included mentors such as Stormzy,

the process, he has become possibly the quintessential photojournalist
in southern Africa today.
Oscar has made an invaluable contribution to the documentation of
southern Africa’s contemporary history. His commercial work spans
projects for Constitution Hill (home of South Africa’s Constitutional
Court), Ogilvy Publications, the South African Electoral Commission,

Originally from Guatemala, Oscar has lived and worked in Latin
America, the Caribbean, Israel, Canada, the United States,
Mozambique and South Africa. His extensive formal training includes a
Bachelor in Fine Arts, specialising in photojournalism, from the
Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York, as well as
MA candidacy in Fine Arts.

BFM main accomplishments include having built a pioneering creative school in Langa township (Cape Town) with world-class facilities and an innovative curriculum combining music, mindfulness and entrepreneurship. Bridges for Music also provides support for established artists in the African continent through its International Support Program, which gives local artists the opportunity to play in some of the most renowned international festivals. Its main partners include brands like Nandos, Pioneer DJ or Resident Advisor.
In the past Valentino spent his career running some of the biggest clubs in the world, such as legendary Barraca in Valencia (Spain) or the globally renowned Amnesia Ibiza, often ranked among the top 3 events venues in the world. He founded a fashion and art magazine in
Spain (LaMilk Magazine), a record label (Barraca Music) and managed some great artists with international success. Valentino has also consulted for numerous global brands on music and brand strategy (Red Bull, Ford, Burn, BlackBerry, Pioneer DJ..) and has promoted concerts with artists like Snoop Dog, 50cent or Skrillex to name a few.

Living and growing as an artist in Reunion island is a powerful invitation to align her Self and share her love for Creation.

In French, English and Creole, Sundri Feeling is winning the heart of an audience in love with this subtle blend of jazz harmonies, pop, maloya, ballads, rock, samba, soul, positive poetry, dance, sensuality and more.

New album “Dancing souls” released in March is directed by the international bass player Sylvin Marc (Nina Simone, Chris Rea, Michel Jonasz). Sundri writes all lyrics then composes together with chosen musicians. Quartet on stage, the incredible bass sound of Misho M’Ba (Ray Charles, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Paco Sery), piano inspiration of Jérôme Vaccari (director of Jazz Club Réunion) and creole style drums of Philippe Baraka (Ziskakan) accompany Sundri’s rich repertoire of vocal nuances. In 2019 tours are taking them to South Africa, Gran Canarias and Mozambique. Seoul Music Week 2017 showcase was the opportunity for a 1st Asian tour, followed by a 2nd one in 2018. Since 2016, Sundri Feeling has also convinced major theatres in Reunion.

1st album «Accords» was nominated in 2015 by the IAMA (USA) and Indian Ocean Voices, thus giving Sundri Feeling a regular presence in the media and jazz scene. Sundri Feeling gives you sensibility and soul.
